The most important maintenance operations are those related to safety. The points that  have special significance from the safety point-of-view are indicated with a A mark in this manual. 

Center PIN

The front and rear chassis are connected by center pins. The upper center pin employs a spherical plane bearing which absorbs force in crosswise and vertical directions. The outer ring is divided to decrease initial clearance between inner and outer ring. The lower center pin employs a spherical bearing too, but it is not divided, absorbing force only in a crosswise direction. When center pin play (caused by wear) is to be checked. Raise the boom all the way upward, stop the engine, and then move the boom lever back and forth quickly. At this time another man checks center pin play from the side of the chassis.
